The time had finally arrived. Tired of the hazing, the dangerous pranks, and a generally unsafe playing environment, (2) members of the Columbus Black Dragons paintball team decided to from their own team.  A team where safety was the number one issue.  A team where anyone will the will to play and having their own gear was welcome.  A team that was more than just a paintball team, a team that was made up of friends. Unit 55 was born.
Starting out playing in the neighboring woods at Columbus, the team soon gained more members, enough to issue a formal challenge to the remaing members of the Black Dragons.  After defeating the Black Dragons,  Unit 55 decided they were ready for bigger things.  Unit 55 played games at Paintball Valley , Attica (Hell at the Hotel), and soon hosted it's own scenarios at Paintball Valley, who was now a sponser of Unit 55.
In 2007, Unit 55 held some more scenarios, had Noob Day at Paintball Valley, and once again played at Attica, Indiana  While some members chose to move on, the core members of the team still remained and some new members were picked up through  out the season.
2008 looks very promising as Unit 55 will travel to more games around Indiana, as well as holding Noob Day 2008 at Paintball Valley, and actively looking for new recruits.
